Swimming Pool Servicing

1. Summer open service

• Remove winter debris cover, drain, pack and store as necessary.
• Top up water level (auto) or reduce as required.
• Set up skimmer float and weir.
• Remove antifreeze floats and discard.
• Connect all drain plugs in pool components.
• Join all inter-connecting pipe work carrying out visual inspection on all o ring seals.
• Commission pumps free motors and lube as necessary.
• Connect safety device in boiler and test operation.
• Prime system and carry out filter fill procedure.
• Flash test pump electrically.
• Vacuum pool using satellite pump to clear debris.
• Re-circulate pool adding summer chemicals.
• Re-fill chemical feeder and set dose rate.
• Set all timers for summer filtration rate.
• Check under water light operation.
• Observe boiler operation.
• Locate and set up: ladders, rollers, and diving boards
  looking for defects.
• Prepare summer cover for use.
• Sweep immediate pool surround (excludes removal of rubbish)
• Check pool cleaning equipment and set up. (Pool sweeps included)

A 7 day period should be allowed before swimming.

PLEASE NOTE THIS SERVICE DOES NOT GUARANTEE A CLEAN POOL.
FURTHER TREATMENT MAY BE NECESSARY
Please ensure the pool water level is topped up (to above the skimmer) prior to our visit.
If an extra visit is required due to low water level, a call out charge will be applied...

In order to insure your summer open service is fast, effective, and efficient, we at SPA CONNECTIONS would appreciate it if clients could top up pool levels, to operating level to ensure your pool is ready to use when we leave. Ready for you and your season.

COMPANY POLICY
It is company policy that our engineers use only fresh chemicals from our service vehicles for opening client’s swimming pools.

Charges
Summer open service charge £188 Inc vat chemicals will be charged for in addition.

2. Winter close service Winterization Specification

• Backwash filter for prolonged period until completely clear.
• Remove matter from pool by vacuuming.
• Lower pool level 2-4 inches below skimmer mouths but not more than 18 inches below coping stones. So pool does not become damaged by water table.
• Drain filtration system and exposed pipe work...
• Drain and empty any chemical in feeder.
• Place all plugs in secure place.
• Wrap summer cover and place in storage to customer’s requirements.
• Wash any pool cleaning device and store with summer cover.
• Remove any accessories, e.g. steps, boards, rollers, nets, brushes and store.
• Isolate electrical supply to pool equipment, spray motors and other devices with a water dispersant.
• Isolate gas supply to boiler, switch off power, and drain safety device.
• Adjust pH to 7.2 using appropriate chemical.
• Super chlorinate pool water to 10ppm using shock chemical.
• Thoroughly mix chemical in pool using satellite pump.
• Fit and adjust winter cover.

Client’s Responsibility

• The pool must be clear and have been serviced at least one week prior to the close.
• If SPA CONNECTIONS are asked to close a green pool, we will service the pool and return to close it at a later date, charging additional servicing hours at our standard hourly rate
• We request two weeks notice to winterize your pool.

Winter Call Back Service
A visit in December and another in February is a minimum requirement to check water level, pump out excess water, check chemical content of water and add further chlorine and algaecide as required. It is advisable due to the increased rain fall we experience this service is carried out monthly.

Other Work to Consider During Closed Season:

3. Weekly servicing

• Vacuum swimming pool of any debris.
• Net swimming pool of any matter.
• Backwash and rinse media in swimming pool filter, or wash cartridge filter.
• Test and maintain water balance to include: ph, sanitizer (chlorine, bromine etc), Alkalinity, Total dissolved solids, and when needed any other specialists tests ozone etc.
• Ensure the water temperature is maintained suitable for use.
• Check swimming pool & equipment for defects such as leaks bearing noises etc.
• Ensure skimmers are operating correctly and empty as required.
• Brush swimming pool walls and tile band.
• Prepare swimming pool for shock treatment.

The total cost to summarise, winterise and have 20 weekly service visits is: £1650.00* plus chemicals, and parts.
Payment is due in full prior to your first weekly visit. Chemicals and parts used will be invoiced after ten weeks, and at the end of the season. Additional visits will be charged at the current hourly rate and invoiced separately. We will require two weeks notice to winterise your pool. You will receive a reminder that you are nearing the end of your contract. By telephone.

4. Monthly service contracts

• Backwash and rinse media in swimming pool filter.
• Test and maintain water balance to include: pH, Sanitizer (chlorine, bromine etc), Alkalinity, Total Dissolved Solids, and when needed any other specialists tests: Ozone etc.
• Ensure the water temperature is maintained suitable for use.
• Check swimming pool and equipment for defects such as leaks bearing noises etc.
• Ensure skimmers are operating correctly and empty as required.
• Prepare swimming pool for shock treatment.
• Full Water Analysis
• Pool vacuuming is not included in monthly pool servicing.

Payment is due in advance for a period of 6 months prior to your first monthly visit. Chemical and Parts usage will be invoiced to you on a quarterly basis. Call outs are charged at current hourly charge rate, and invoiced separately. You will receive a reminder and invitation to remain when you are nearing the end of your contract. If you require any special arrangement please contact us.

Charges
Monthly service charge to summarise, winterise and 5 monthly visits £750 Inc vat chemicals and charged for in addition.

5. On going service contracts
Weekly / monthly ongoing service contracts are available and are subject to full site survey, these contracts are tailored to your requirements.

6. Holiday services
Holiday services are a great idea if you are looking to be away from you property in the summer months, we advise a service before you go away and each week you are away also, so that on your return in good sprit your swimming pool is crystal clear ready for you and your family to enjoy. A UK key holders details are required in your absence for emergency purposes. Service charges are our current hourly charge chemicals used will be charged for in addition.

7. Leak detection
We all know the stress and worry a leaking pool can produce, excessive water consumption, ground settlement caused by leaking water, increased chemical consumption, however many leaks can be identified and remedied very easily we offer a 4 stage process and costs listed below. Over 75% of pool leaks are solved within 1 hour! Do not delay repair you leak today!

1. Initial call out and investigation £58
2. Pressure test all accessible pipe work, this will establish pipe work failure £235
3. Sonar leak detection, with a sonar listening device we can establish water tracking to earth using sonar detection £323
4. Dye testing, using dye injection we can trace water movement to failed items connected to the pool £76

By completing the tests in the above stages our elimination process ensures you leaks are located.
